MISSION STATEMENT
Jesus says in Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world.” The mission of this school is to educate students as Jesus’ disciples, becoming the light of the world, and transforming the world according to the word in this dark and chaotic age. Our vision is also to make Jesus’ disciples impact the world through fulfilling their mission in all strata of society according to their individual calling from God.
본교의 비전은 “너희는 세상의 빛이라” (마 5:14)고 하신 주님의 말씀에 따라, 영적으로 어둡고 혼란스런 이 시대에 세상의 빛이 되어, 세상을 변화시키는 예수님의 제자들을 양성하는 것이다. 그리고 그들이 하나님의 부르심에 따라 사회 각 영역에서 그리고 열방으로 나아가 빛의 사명을 감당함으로 말미암아 세상에 변화를 가져오도록 하는 것이다.

The educational goal of this school primarily revolves around equipping Jesus’ disciples with mature
spirituality, intelligence and global leadership.
본교의 교육목표는 학생들로 하여금 성숙한 영성과 탁월한 지성 그리고 글로벌 리더십을 갖춘
예수 그리스도의 제자가 되게 하는 것이다.
Educational Objectives
1. 5C Spiritual maturity realms(5 C 영성교육)
Students shall grow in spiritual communion with God. This shall be done through developing a Jesus-
like character, representing a spiritual community, making a commitment to the great commission,
and in multicultural leadership.
학생들은 하나님과의 거룩한 연합과 함께 그리스도를 닮는 인격을 형성하며, 공동체를
이루며, 하나님 나라를 위해 헌신하며, 다문화 사회에서 요구되는 리더십을 갖추게 된다.
2. Biblical worldview integration of education (성경적 세계관으로 통합된 지식교육)
Students shall set an example in this world with the biblical foundation integrated in knowledge.
학생들은 성경적인 세계관으로 통합된 지식을 배움으로 세상을 이기는 지성인이 된다.
3. Critical and Creative Thinking (비판적 사고와 창의력)
Students shall seek truthful knowledge and solve problems through critical thinking. Students shall
produce innovative ideas with creative thinking, leading the fourth industrial revolution era.
학생들은 비판적 사고와 창의적 사고로 진리를 찾고 문제를 해결하는 능력을 가지며, 창의적 사고로 새로운 것을 창출해 낼 수 있는 능력을 가진다. 4차 산업혁명시대를 이끌어가는 인재가 된다.
4. Information processing abilities (정보 처리 능력)
Students shall collect, analyze, and apply knowledge and information from various fields in order to solve problems in a rational manner.
문제를 합리적으로 해결하기 위하여 다양한 영역의 지식과 정보를 수집하고 분석하여 활용할 수 있는 능력을 키운다.
5. International language communication (국제적 언어소통능력)
Students shall effectively communicate with people in the English-speaking world and use other international languages.
학생들은 영어와 국제적으로 통용되는 외국어로 열방과 효과적으로 소통한다.
6. Global leadership (글로벌 리더십)
Students shall love and pray for the nations to lead the world, surpassing the global standard.
학생들은 열방을 사랑하며 품고 기도하게 된다. 글로벌 스탠다드를 뛰어넘는 리더십을 발휘한다.
5C Spiritual Education
Spiritual education is a foundation that affects every educational sphere. It is integrated with several themes: community, character, commission and culture. For a well-balanced spiritual education, Sunny Hill School provides 5 C spiritual education as follows:
영성교육은 다른 영역의 교육에 까지 영향을 미치는 가장 근본적인 교육이다. 그리고 영적성숙은 단지 하나님과의 관계뿐 아니라 성품, 공동체성, 사명 그리고 문화적 영역과도 연관되어 있다. 균형잡힌 영성교육을 위해 다음의 다섯가지 영역을 본교의 교육과정에 반영한다.
Communion: Faith Development (신앙적 발달: 영적교제)
Communion is being intimate with God. The biblical word for this theme is faith. Sunny Hill School nurtures our students to grow in faith through worship, prayer, meditation, and Bible study.
영적교제는 하나님과의 밀접한 관계를 통해 이루어진다. 예배와 기도, 성경묵상과 통독훈련으로 하나님을 경외하며 하나님과의 친밀한 관계를 가질 수 있도록 교육한다.
Community: Social Development (사회적 발달: 공동체)
Community is defined as spiritual/social association in Christ Jesus. Forming a community is one of the important fruits of communion. Students shall learn how to overcome conflicts and to form a Christ-centered community through cooperative learning and teaching.
공동체는 예수 그리스도안에 있는 영적 사회적 연합을 의미한다. 공동체 형성은 하나님과의 영적교제속에서 이루어지는 열매중 하나다. 협동학습과 협동교수를 통해 다른 사람들과 화합하며 갈등을 극복할 수 있는 원리를 배우고 체험하여, 그리스도안에서 공동체를 이룰 수 있도록 교육한다.
Character: Moral Development (도덕적 발달: 성품)
Having a Jesus-like Character is part of the important criteria of spiritual maturity. Biblical character education shall nurture students to strengthen their sense of biblically based morality.
예수님 닮은 성품은 영적성숙의 중요한 지표이다. 성경적인 성품교육(character education)을 통해 학생들의 도덕성이 발달할 수 있도록 양육할 것이다.
Commission: Vocational Development (소명적 발달: 사명)
Commission is a vocational sphere of spiritual maturity. Those that are mature in spirit are obedient to God’s calling. Students shall be stimulated by school activities such as short term missions, internships, community service.
영적으로 성숙한 사람은 하나님의 부르심에 순종하여 주신 사명으로 산다. 학생들은 재능과 관심을 따라 단기선교, 인턴십, 자원봉사 등의 활동을 통해 세상을 향한 주님의 지상명령을 수행하며, 자신의 소명을 발견하는계기를 얻게 된다.
Culture(문화적 발달: 문화적 소통)
Multi-cultural communication is required to fulfill God’s calling in international/multi-cultural environment. Students shall learn languages and virtues for impactful international communication/leadership and practice through vision trip and mission trip.
문화적 소통은 다문화/국제사회에서 사명을 감당하기 위해 필요한 요소이다. 학생들은 국제적 소통과 국제적 리더십에 필요한 언어와 원리를 배우고 익혀, 글로발 리더십을 발휘할 수 있도록 양육받는다.
